
About 376 LIC sportspersons from eight zones are competing in six disciplines at the four-day event in Bengaluru.
LIC chief executive and managing director R. Doraiswamy inaugurated the All India LIC Games 2026–27 at Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Monday. The competition, which includes athletics, badminton, volleyball, table tennis, chess and carrom, is scheduled to end on 8 October.
R. Doraiswamy, LIC’s chief executive and managing director, opened the All India LIC Games 2026–27 at Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Monday. About 376 sportspersons from eight LIC zones are competing in Bengaluru.
The four-day event features carrom, chess, table tennis, badminton, volleyball and athletics. Participants took part in a march-past during the opening ceremony, followed by the hoisting of LIC’s corporate flag and the formal declaration of the games’ commencement.
Doraiswamy asked participants to compete with enthusiasm and fair play, describing sport as an exercise in character-building as well as competition.
Those present included S. Girija, executive director for HRD training; Pradeep P. Shenoy, executive director for corporate communication; Lata Madampath, executive director for personnel; Saravana Ramesh S., zonal manager for the South Central Zone; and R. K. Yadav, senior divisional manager of Bengaluru Division–1.
The games conclude on 8 October. LIC managing director R. Chander is scheduled to attend the closing ceremony as chief guest.
