More than 150 dancers perform at Purana Qila’s Indraprastha Nritya Mahotsav

Delhi Tourism’s three-day classical dance festival brought Kuchipudi, Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak and other traditions to Purana Qila over the weekend.

The second Indraprastha Nritya Mahotsav featured more than 150 dancers from India and abroad at Purana Qila. Alongside performances, the programme included a light-and-sound presentation tracing the story of Indraprastha and the Yamuna.

More than 150 dancers performed against the walls of Purana Qila as the second Indraprastha Nritya Mahotsav unfolded over three days this weekend.

Organised by Delhi Tourism, the festival brought a range of classical forms to the historic site, including Kuchipudi, Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Sattriya, Mohiniyattam, Kathakali and Manipuri. A light-and-sound presentation on Indraprastha and the Yamuna was also part of the evening programme.

Students of Natya Tarangini, guided by Raja Radha Reddy and Kaushalya Reddy, presented Kuchipudi pieces including *Maha Prana Deepam Shivam* and *Shivoham*. Kuala Lumpur’s Sutra Foundation, directed by Ramli Ibrahim, staged *Fragrant Odissi*, while Kalakshetra Foundation presented *Gangadhara*, a Bharatanatyam work on aspects of Shiva.

Other performers included Parshwanath Upadhye, Aditya P V, Guru Anita Sharma’s group, Guru Pallavi Krishnan, Guru Shama Bhate’s group, Nrityagram led by Guru Surupa Sen, Guru Latasana Devi’s group and Guru Vaibhav Arekar. Delhi artistes also presented Folk Chhand.
